The Taiwan Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (TSBMB) was established in 1970. The TSBMB aims at providing opportunities for close interactions among researchers in Taiwan and also with other international Biochemistry and Molecular Biology societies and networks. The society includes IUBMB (International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology), FAOBMB (Federation of Asian and Oceanian Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) and all investigators on biochemistry and molecular biology from major research universities in Taiwan
Every fall, we have annual meeting (TSBMB Autumn Camp) to present a world-class gathering and indepth discussion for research related to biochemistry and molecular biology. We invite speakers who are experts in the respective research area. We have the poster/short oral presentations for graduate students, postdocs and research assistants to compete for decent prizes. Every spring, we join the Joint Annual Conference of Biomedical Science with other sister societies to facilitate discussion among TSBMB members and with other researchers on basic and translational biomedical research. We also provide workshops of science communication to all levels of researchers.
The TSBMB membership is open to colleagues working on all aspects of biochemistry and molecular biology in Taiwan. The society currently has 1415 active and student members. Most of the members are from universities, research institutions, and biotech companies allocated in Taiwan. There are three types of TSBMB membership:
● Active Membership
Application is open to any person with a professional degree (PhD or MD) or its equivalent who has manifested a continuous interest in any discipline important to biochemistry and molecular biology.
* An entrance fee of NT$500; an annual fee of NT$500.
● Student Membership
Application is open to students interested in research on biochemistry and molecular biology. An entrance fee of NT$100; an annual fee of NT$100.
● 10-year Membership
Application is open to individual who has manifested a continuous interest in any discipline important to biochemistry and molecular biology as evidenced by work in the field, original contributions, and attendance at meetings holding by TSBMB.
* An entrance fee of NT$500; a 10-year fee of NT$4000.
